“I’ve been with your company since around 1980, when I was a young police officer, living up in Meadville. We moved to Butler in the fall of 1988, and we’ve been with you ever since. During that time, we had a few claims over the years, but what I noticed, and what I liked about your company was that your company was always fair with me, and helped me through each of the claims I was dealing with. I was most appreciative of your company about five years ago. It was one of the worst days of my life. On that day, I was in the Washington DC area with my wife, visiting with my daughter who lives outside of DC, with her husband , and our three grand children, when I got a call from home that my brother Tom passed away from ALS. My brother and I were close, and since he was not married, nor had any children, I was his POA, and took him to all of his doctors appointments. So I immediately left the DC area, heading for home. While traveling through VA, I was going through a federal park area, on a two lane roadway, when all of a sudden, a very large deer came crashing into my left side of our car, doing severe damage, causing the air bags to deploy. I thought my left elbow was broke from the air bag deploying, but it was just bruised. Ironically, there was a VA state trooper right behind me, and saw the whole thing. He told me that after the deer hit our car, the deer flew up into the air, and a second car, coming in the opposite direction, hit the deer in mid air, causing damage to that car as well. My car was now out of commission, and was being towed to a garage in Winchester, Va. I still wanted to get home, so I called my daughter in the DC area, and she let me use there second car, so I could get back home to see my deceased brother. So in addition to making funeral plans for my brother, I was also calling your office to make plans for the repair of my car, The issue came up that the garage in VA was willing to repair my car there, but I did not want an out of state garage to repair my vehicle. I requested your company to transport my vehicle back to Butler to have it repaired locally. Your company was very gracious with me, (especially when I was dealing with a very sad time in my life) and made those arrangements for me, for which I am very grateful. We still have this same car. And it is for those reasons why I like and appreciate your company.”
